PersonnelPlus, a division of Atco (formerly Atco Job Placement Services), was established in 1983 to train and place workers with disabilities in entry-level jobs that match the skills and abilities of the individual, while meeting the employment needs of a business. As a "Supported Employment" program, PersonnelPlus provides supports for people with moderate and severe disabilities that enable them to be successful and productive in their place of employment. Today, PersonnelPlus has over 70 workers with disabilities working in over 40 businesses throughout Athens County.Who We Are and What We Do Best

Established in 1983, formerly ATCO Job Placement Services, soon celebrating our twenty-third anniversary of providing a productive partnership between Athens’ business community and individuals with disabilities. Our unique job placement service boasts of many state and national awards. Over the past years our services have been not only recognized statewide, but also nationally. The list of awards: PersonnelPlus and our Job Retention Club received the Ohio Association for Persons in Supportive Employment - Best Practice Award, our director, longest employed job coach, and job developer received top honors both state-wide and nationally for Professionals of the Year, two valued businesses earned the prestigious Employer of the Year, our vocational habilitation manager and an employer partner received the Leadership Award, and most importantly several individuals placed by our service deservedly earned state and national recognition for Personal Achievement

The staff at PersonnelPlus works as a team to evaluate the job in order to determine what skills and capabilities are required to satisfactorily and efficiently meet the approval of the employer and successfully place our candidate in community employment
PersonnelPlus provides and pays the wages of our Job Coach to assist businesses in training our individuals to meet their performance benchmarks
The business client has the option of trying more than one candidate when available and the client will not incur any expenses or be obliged to hire
PersonnelPlus provides follow-up services and occasional retraining when needed after placement / hire
Our current statistics indicate that we have 66 individuals with disabilities working in over 50 area businesses for a total of 101 job placements in Athens County
Our longest continuing placement is 21 years and our individuals bring enthusiasm, a sense of pride, and job specific training to the job
We have an impressive volunteer Business Advisory Council comprised of local business leaders who embrace our vision of supported employment
PersonnelPlus boasts of an enthusiastic Consumer Advisory Council made up of individuals with disabilities currently working in the community or in the process of seeking outside employment
Most importantly, we offer a WIN – WIN opportunity as we provide local businesses with qualified and dependable folks to fill entry-level positions while enriching the quality of life for individuals with disabilities

is through the partnerships we have forged with Athens area businesses and service industries since 1983. More and more businesses are realizing that hiring individuals through PersonnelPlus for part-time, peak period, entry-level positions is a cost-effective solution for holding down payroll and benefit costs and boosting employee morale. A recent study cites that absenteeism costs the average employer upwards of $800/year per employee. From the input we receive, our business partners tell us that workers with disabilities tend to stay longer at the job which in the long run reduces turnovers, advertising budgets for replacements, and orientation man hours and dollars.
